Neil was always willing to be of assistance well beyond his official duties and did his best to ensure that everyone onboard had an enjoyable experience. His knowledge of the Western Isles is extensive and Neil was happy to share this knowledge to everyone\u2019s benefit.<\/p>\n

Neil is the perfect person to have on board a boat being polite, courteous and discreet. His presence exuded reassurance, security and professionalism and his meticulous attention to detail ensured that everything always ran according to plan which is a challenge on an old wooden classic boat. I never heard Neil complain and no request however bizarre was too much to deal with.<\/p>\n

I have no hesitation in recommending Neil\u2019s company for the management and operation of sailing vessels.<\/p>\n

The nature of the Hydrographic, Oceanographic and Geophysical survey business often leads to short notice requests in previously unvisited locations. In both planned and short notice requirements Neil has provided great service, applying his knowledge and experience to safely and effectively manage delivery voyages.
During survey operations, often operating in very shallow water and close to navigational dangers his ship handling and situational awareness have proved invaluable. His mariners skill coupled with his calm and affable nature has allowed difficult situations to be worked through successfully on a number of occasions.<\/p>\n

Neil has worked for us as a relief\/stand-by Skipper in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and in the 2016 season as a full time Skipper on our 24 metre mini-cruise ships, namely M\/V Glen Massan and M\/V Glen Tarsan. He is a competent and safe Skipper, and excellent boat handler. We have no hesitation in recommending him for work of this nature.<\/p>\n

Neil’s skippering of The Majestic Line’s vessels has continued through to September 2024.<\/p>\n

Neil\u00a0 has sailed as skipper on the Majestic Line’s M\/V Glen Etive and M\/V Glen Shiel, being skipper on M\/V Glen Shiel since her fit out, launch and entry in to service in 2019, through September 2024.<\/p>\n

We recently went on a 6 night cruise around Skye and the Sea Lochs of the Western Scottish Mainland. The skipper of the cruise boat was Neil White, of Saltire Marine Services who arranged a marvellous itinerary stopping regularly to allow us time to enjoy our surroundings. Information and forward planning was passed on to all the passengers on a daily basis. The choice of anchorages was well chosen to ensure a good undisturbed sleep in calm waters. Neil\u2019s rapport with the crew and passengers was greatly appreciated. We hope to cruise with Neil as skipper again.<\/p>\n

I found Neil to be very knowledgeable on Marine issues. As a manager he is quick to latch on to ideas especially electronic technology and adapt applications for his own use. An example of this is the company he worked with did not use electronic technology to the full capacity.
In his role as Duty Manager he introduced various practices that allowed him to be a more effective and efficient manager.<\/p>\n
